Keynote Topic: When Artificial Intelligence Meets the Internet of Things: Motivations, Challenges, and Applications
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) is a newly emerging technology that combines IoT and AI technologies to enable decision making and analytics at IoT devices. IoT enables networks of physical objects that are equipped with sensors, software, and other technologies to exchange data with other devices and systems over the internet, while AI enables data analytics and automated decision making. This talk will start with the motivations of combining AI and IoT technologies as well as the associated challenges. Then Prof. Wei Xiang will talk about his experience in setting up Australia’s first accredited IoT Engineering program at James Cook University, as well as Australia’s only industry-sponsored research centre that specialises in synergizing between AI and IoT technologies. Before concluding the talk, Prof. Wei Xiang will talk about a wide range of applications and use cases his AIoT Centre has been working on in Australia.

Keynote Topic: All-optical network with 5G/6G & autopiloting, AIoT
Abstract: 5G is a wireless technology with designed max. transmission speed of 1 Gbps, latency ~ 1 milliseconds: 6G Technology, 50 Gbps, latency ~0.1 milliseconds. These all need terrestrial fixed networks to support, namely, super high-speed networks, or better yet, all-optical networks. Current network architecture is at best described as pseudo-all optical network, since the networks are composed of electrical wires, electronic ICs, glass optical cables, O/E/O converters, devices, etc. To reduce the latency to the greatest extent possible, all-optical network concept is introduced. Then 5G/6G wireless will be supported fully. In autopiloting, especially in Level 5 the highest level, highly coordinated actions from sensing, transmitting, calculating, decision-making, transferring to action of powertrain, braking system, steering system etc. In-vehicle network should by itself be an all-optical network (AON). The linkage via 5G/6G transceivers from vehicle to other vehicles, to road-side networks to stations and to satellites forms a crucial element of 3D network of super high-speed communications.

Fuzhou
Fuzhou, the capital and transportation hub of Fujian Province, is a coastal city in the southeastern China. It faces China’s Taiwan Island across the East China Sea.
Fuzhou remains largely undiscovered and seriously underrated by Western travelers, but those taking a tour here are in for a real treat. With a long history of over 2,000 years, Fuzhou is a national historical and cultural city.

Fuzhou-
Sanfang Qixiang
With a reputation of “The Historical Source and Cultural Root of Fuzhou”, Sanfang Qixiang, or called Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, is the most famous historical block of Fuzhou. It is composed of three lanes and seven lanes, hence the name. Traditional fish-bone architectural style is well-kept on over 270 ancient dwellings there, allowing the visitors to have a glimpse of the past. It is also a paradise for snacks, handicrafts and nightlife.
------
Fuzhou-
Museum of Lin Zexu
The Ancestral Hall and Museum of Lin Zexu is located close to Sanfang Qixiang. It was built in memory of Lin Zexu, a national hero in China who famously suppressed the importation of opium and sparked the First Opium War. This ancestral hall and museum will introduce you the entire life of him, with his hand-written poems, couplets, scrolls, political engraving board and other relics exhibited.

Fuzhou-
White & Black Tower
White Tower was built by Wang Shenzhi, the King of old Ancient Fujian of this region, to repay the kindness of his father and brother. The tower is named White tower because its outside appearance is coated with white ash layer. The seven-layer Black Tower, or called Wu Tower, faces the southeast side of White Tower in a distance. The tower is in black color after weathering, hence the name. The two towers are two landmarks of Fuzhou.
